When Downs Rugby Limited was created, there were four long serving servants of the game who had previously been awarded Life Membership by the former Darling Downs Rugby Union Incorporated. They were:

Don Trenerry - Year Awarded 1974

Bill Flamsteed - Year Awarded 1988

David Thompson - Year Awarded 1998

Geoff Makim - Year Awarded 2007

Downs Rugby Limited is blessed to have these famous and passionate rugby men as the first Life Members of Downs Rugby Limted.
